  1. wow... that guy is an awesome trick cyclist. but as the opening scene depicts he makes plenty of mistakes along the way. but when he fell he just got back up, fixed his bike and did it again. and thinking back every great athlete or mathematician or anybody with a really DEVELOPED talent went through a lot of trial and error. nobody is born able to walk, u fall many times before u get it right, but when you get it, its all the more rewarding. and pertaining school i look back twice and see that i cant get mad at doing something wrong the first time, or one bad test. just get back up, fix your bike, and do it again. keep doing that and your talent will show all on its own.

  2. The part of this video that connected most with me, beyond that awesome tricks, was how he just kept at each trick until he got it right, even if that wasn't necessarily the first time. I think this really shows how even people who have incredible skill still need practice to hone those skills. At the beginning of the video when he was doing the trick where he rode along the top of the fence, he had several falls but he always got back up. I think that this really brought to mind the message that success isn't about never falling, its about getting back up. That message is one I know that I can apply in all aspects of life.

  3. I think that MacAskill is sending a message that you shouldn't be afraid to be different. Not many people see fences as a good place to ride their bike, but he is not afraid to do what others see as different, hard, or potentially painful. MacAskill seems to be sending a message that we should think outside of the box; thinking inside it won't make us stand out or be different.

  4. The video to me was inspiring, it showed me that when something is hard don't give up just keep trying until you get it right. At the beginning of the video when he was falling and could not get the tricks right he got back up and tried again. I think we can all learn something from MacAskill.

  5. It was indeed an inspired video. I admire his will-power. I was actually not that surprised that he could do it, not to sound skeptical or prideful. I've both seen and experienced things that most people would call "impossible". When I see things like that now, it doesn't surprise me, but it makes me proud that yet another person has figured out that anything can be accomplished if they set their minds to it. For me, it goes even deeper than that. I know that nothing is impossible with God, so I don't care how many people tell me I can't do something. I know people who've been healed of cancer instantly, and someone who came alive again after being dead nearly six days. If people knew the power of faith or at least the power of believing in one's self, the world would be such an exciting place.

  6. I felt that the video, although it tried to show that what he did took work, didn't even scratch the the surface of the struggle he was sure to have had. The video was inspiring, but I think it's important to show that it takes a ton of work to become good at anything.

  7. The way that the inspired Bicycles connects to me is at the very begging when he is trying to ride that fence, he falls off a couple of times but when he fell of his bike he gets right back on and tries it again and he keeps on going till he gets across the fence. That’s what I find my self doing sometimes when I fall off I get right back on and keep on striving for that goal. And in the video he keeps on pushing the limits on how high, fast, and complex he can get. He keeps pushing the max, that’s what I try to accomplish with my work. This video has inspired me to keep on going even when the going gets tough.

  8. The video Inspired Bicycles connected to me in the way that even if I fail, I'll keep going. Each time the bicyclist fell oh the ledge, he could have hurt himself or just given up. But even with the risk known, he continued to try to ride the ledge because he was determined. If I set a goal for myself, I try to my hardest not to give up on it. I try until I reach my goal, just like the bicyclist. I feel more motivated now because of the video, and just watching what he can do.

  9. I think what the presentation was trying to show was that you have to work hard to achieve your goals, and also that practice makes perfect. I thought the video was very inspiring, but also that you can't expect to become great at anything if you don't work hard and try your best. I think what MacAskill is trying to show is that you can do anything you set your mind to.

  10. Wow. That guy is amazingly good! That video showed me that I can do anything if I put my mind to it, but along the way its going to be struggle and make a few mistakes. Nobody is perfect. When it comes to school if I focus and really try hard I can do really well and be amazingly good at school. I just have to practice and get better everyday.

  11. Goals that I see as far fetched for me may seem like a piece of cake for this amazing bike rider. I think about the goals he has and I'm not sure he has ever set a goal to do something that he didn't fully believe he could achieve. I think just by his body language that if there is a challenge for him he views it as something to do because he thinks and kind of prooves he can do anything on a bike. I think if we all had that outlook on life then we could be alot more succesful. Also though his tricks and stuff he knows he can do, it only takes one tiny mishap for him to be fatally hurt. I think that is true in life as well but it might not be a physical injury, but you can't be afraid of getting hurt mentally or physically.

  13. The inspired bicycles video does not quite relate to my world, because I am not athletic and I don't have the guts to pull off something that dangerous. But on the other hand i was inspired to excel in what I do now and to branch out using my interests. So I will do so and give it 150%.

  14. I have never seen anything like what this man does on his bike; it's amazing. He is living proof that what we think could be impossible can become possible. Also, as he completes all of his tricks, I could tell that he was loving every minute of what he was doing. I wish that I knew what I loved to do like him. I continue to look and learn, yet I cannot see one thing that I could do for the rest of my life. The determination to keep on trying seems invigorating and I would love to experience that feeling in my life. Is it possible that everyone has something, like him riding his bike, in their life? I also think that it's interesting how he gave up a possible future of a stable job and continued to work on something that had no guarantees of panning out. I wonder if it'd be worth it to take that chance or not.

  15. The Inspired Bicycles presentation related to my creative and outgoing side. The style and willingness to be at risk of Macaskill are why he stands out as a cyclist. The terrain and objects he chose to conquer were different. Macaskill isn't afraid to stray from the norm; so he isn't seen as just another cyclist. I have an obscure approach at note and test taking, but it's my way. This is similar to Macaskill in the sense that it doesn't matter how you do something, it's how the result looks. I didn't see the potential that Macaskill was able to envision on several of the objects that he was able to perform tricks on, so the presentation definitely made me look twice. It was actually quite intriguing because Macaskill was able to find a way to revive the exciting nature of cycling that was lost long ago. Who knows what other nuances in style could do to other sports? From a candid perspective, very little significance can be taken from this presentation. But with a more introspective view of this film, there are quite a few important lessons that can be taken from viewing Inspired Bicycles.

  16. I think that this guy is pretty amazing. He shows everyone that nothing is impossible if you work hard enough at your goals. He must have practiced non-stop and hurt himself hundreds of times but now he is incredible. He shows us that we should not be afraid of trying new things because whether you get hurt or not it is a learning experience and will help you in the long run.

  17. I found this video to be inspiring in the fact that it showed us what true determination looks like. As part of the 21st century our population doesn't know what it really looks like to keep doing something until we find a solution. Often times we give up before truly achieving our goals, merely because we are afraid of failure or getting hurt. The bicyclist was willing to endure the pain and the embarrassment every time that he attempted to ride his bike down the fence like a tight rope. I think this is a virtue that we can all apply to our lives. Each of us can find one thing in our lives that we keep working on until we have reached the desired ending.

  18. The inspired bicycle guy was awesome! I want to know how many years it took him to learn those tricks. I can connect it to my school endeavours, like to graduate high school, or get fantastic grades. This video made me look twice, by thinking anything is possible if you just work at it and never give up. This video inspired me to do better and then mabey good things will happen to me. Other reactions to the video that I had where, how many years it took for him to do those tricks, and how is that even possible?

  19. This was the second time I have seen it. It is very hard not to be inspired by what he does. Just by watching it you know that it takes a lot of hard work to do what he does, and of course this applies to school. For me this helps me know that if I do work hard I can do really well in school, and with this being my last semester I know that I still need to work hard. I will always keep this in mind thoughout the year so when I start to think I can slack off I will actually keep working hard and finish up the school year strong.

  20. the rider in this video is very inspiring even when he falls down he gets right back up and tries something just as hard if not harder it helps me realize no one’s perfect but if you work hard you can succeed

  21. I have to admit, this Inspired Bicycles video amazed me quite a bit. That bike rider is very good at what he does. And this video made me think. It made me think about my life and what I was striving for. I feel that if you truly love something, then you will succeed with it. This statement is true for this video. I'll bet that he practices every day and is happy with his life. And you have to think, where do people, like him, get the motivation to do something as incredible as that? That just shows that we as people are capable of amazing things if we just put our mind to it. And that gives me hope, knowing that I am just as capable to do phenomenal things with my life.

  22. I think the video as a whole can relate to all aspects of life. I agree with the idea that at the beginning of the film he fell down but then he just got back up and corrected his mistakes. I think that in an academic sense it could mean that perhaps you fail or mess something up, but in the end if you go back and fix your mistakes you can not only correct them and other similar errors, but you can master what it is you’re trying to fix. I’m sure he didn’t learn all of those tricks over night. It was probably just something that interested him and as time went by he found ways to incorporate what he wanted to do into something that he loved. He may or may not have gotten the support that he felt he deserved but he was still able to do what he wanted based on his own will power. I think that anyone can achieve something like this as long as you put your mind to it. Most of our personal battles come from what we allow ourselves to believe or think. A lot of it has to do with how you perceive yourself. If you feel that you are always going to mess up and that you will always fail then you will. But if you learn from your mistakes and strive to do better, then you will. Most of the challenges we face come from our mind and so if we allow our thinking to be positive and strong then we can pretty much achieve and accomplish anything.

  23. I think the guy was dumb for not accepting sponsorships and entering contests if you have a talent like he does its a slap in the face to those who dont if you dont try and make money off of it. I dont think it connects to academic endevers because its like if your really good at one subject but you dont share your gifts with anybody else. I did not look twice with all the X games and current tv coverage of extreme sports what he was doing was amazing but did not stand out to me. I was not motivated or inspired by the video because I feel like he should be making money with his talents as well as enjoying the sport. In my opinion money is a display of success not how many youtube views you get.

  25. the cyclist was amazing! The beginning of the video where he shows how he messed up a lot before getting good was a great way of sending a message to never give up. his tricks required a lot of dedication and practice and is truly inspirational. But i don't see why he wouldn't take the sponsorships because of how much more he could spread his message.

  26. This video motivates me to get out there and look at the world and see what else I can do outside of school. This video makes me want to get inspired and make a difference in the way that people see the world. Even if thats as simple as making people look around and see all the beautiful things around them.

  27. In the Inspired Bicycles video, I could not relate to the guy in the video, but I do have a passion for film. I have not worked as hard as a could, and I recently found out that I might have dyslexia. But I have been motivated by my family, to get to my goal of being in the slightest bit involved with film. Weather it being a teacher, or being a critic, I have set my goal and I will do all that I can to see it through.

  28. I would strongly disagree with TheTruth!!! I think it is great to see someone out their doing what they love for just the passion. In our money generated society I think it is very commendable to see this man doing what he does for no money!!!! Truth i don't think you are telling the "truth"

  29. What stood out about this video to me was that the rider wasn't afraid to fail. As a diver, I know that midair there is no room for doubt or fear. In order to land a trick on the board on on a bike, a person has to launch themselves wholeheartedly into the trick. This rider was able to completely go into the unknown with no hesitation.

  30. What stood out to me was the rider did everything perfectly, and never fell (at least they didn't show him fall). This shows his drive and motivation to be an amazing bike rider. It relates to people because it can inspire them to go out and do scary things that they've always wanted to do and not be afraid to fail.
