  1. If an entire group of people reach a certain level of fear, then it may cause them to adhere to the "mob mentality" in which everyone is suspicious of everyone else. It is reminiscent of the Red Scare in the 1950s where no one could be trusted. In both cases, ordinary people go to extreme lengths to find a scapegoat.

  2. The people on this street are scared about the possibility of aliens in their town even though none of them seem to be any different from one another. The people on the street all have normal behavior yet they are going against each other.

  3. The actions of the inhabitants becuase of xenophobia were alarming becuase they turned on eachother even if they have known them for years. People began throwing out ideas without any evidence and people believing it and creating things they believe are true. This story differs from the puppet master becuase the puppet master the aliens used there technology to interact and gain the trust of humans, but in maple street the aliens used there technologie to hurt humans and to make them turn on eachother.

  4. well they know that someone is "different"(even tho there not) they are scared of how it is so they are trying to weed them out so they all turn on eachother . its alarming that they let that kids ideas get in their heads. they probably wouldn't have reacted the same if he stayed quiet.

  5. I think that this activity helps to make us realize that we can be different and not understand why someone is acting a certain way towards us. Its a fun activity that can help create trust.

  6. I had no idea what my card said but from how people where acting i definitely got a pretty good idea. My first card was dont look at my face and nobody looked at me or talked to me so i made the connection. My last card said every time i speak, start dancing then. It was kind of an awkward interaction but fun. I would say its a way to infer things off of actions.

  8. This helps demonstrate xenofobia by setting the scene of the people getting scared of each other and not being able to tell whos safe and who is the monster of the group.

  9. This shows how xenofobia everyone is. They try to hunt the Alien so they just attack each other.

  10. I think it also helps us realize that we can be manipulated easily and people are big influences on our actions.

  11. In this episode of "The Twilight Zone" demonstrated xenophobia in the neighbors scared and accusing attitudes. It's alarming, yet true that all the neighbors blame each other, yet get super defensive when their accused. The xenophobia described in this episode is unlike anything we've seen or read yet I believe. This shows the self destruction of humans compared to the imagery of aliens.

  12. I was alarmed when they killed the man in the man in the street because they thought he was the monster. They thought there was a monster the whole time but the real monster was the people themselves. They all jumped to conclusions so easily.

  13. It addresses xenophobia by the aliens turning them against each other and then they suspect whoever acts different in a certain way or who the aliens are framing. It alarms me how the inhabitants were so quick to make assumptions without looking at the bigger picture that they were being tricked to fight among themselves.

  14. One things that alarms me about the actions of the people on maple street is that they all jumped on each other so quickly even though they had known each other for years. it addresses Xenophobia by the occupants of Maple street being afraid of each other being aliens that they started blaming and attacking each other.
