  1. Some common themes that I noticed is that there are larger animals that have evolved and the plants are also larger. I also notice more peaceful interaction between animals as well. I don't really think this portrays xenophobia as much as it could because it doesn't really show that it is unknown or feared in a way.

  2. I noticed that the projects that were shown, they were all put together really well. They all had different lifeforms and different types of plants on the planet. They were all very creative in their ways. A trend that I noticed is that a lot of the planets were cold, or covered in water. I thought that was interesting because we imagine an alien planet like that, just full of water and barely no land. This project has helped me understand xenophobia more, it shows how sometimes we are afraid of discovering whats out there because it might change us. But, through this project I have also realized that change isn't always a bad thing.

  3. As I viewed my piers I noticed that everyone completed what was asked on the rubric. This connects to the concept of xenophobia because everyone had a different or unique planet. No two planets were the same. I found that alot of people did had larger organisms that ruled over smaller organisms.

  4. The projects helped to show us the possible future, giving examples of how species get along on other planets in different circumstances. The main trend I saw was 2 main species per planet, with one ruling over the other. Sometimes the more powerful species was from a different planet, maybe even Earth.

  5. I noticed many of the projects had created their own animals or used science fiction characters that have already been created. This helps us in the concept of Xenophobia because it allows us to think about the possibility of there being planets out there that have some of the animals and climates that mankind has not discovered yet. Personally I would go to only a few of the planets I saw because most of them had carnivores and dangerous animals/plants living there. I think a lot of the planets made for this project would be a one way trip, and nobody wants to go somewhere they have never been where the possibility of death is certain. This project is an excellent example of Xenophobia and teaches us how the world could be.

  6. Looking at all the planet presentations I noticed that none of them were the same. Everyone had their own ideas that ranged from every possible thought. Viewing these, in the back of your mind you decide whether you like that planet, geography, and life apart of it or not. That perfectly showing xenophobia because you may be fearful or against the planet that you just saw.

  7. I noticed that they were not many humans on the planets. Most of them were just made up creatures, some were pretty interesting. They help deliver into the concept of xenophobia because of the creatures and the original planet concepts in the presentations. Everyone was original about how many days were in a year and other geographical features. Some presentations were long and then some were really short so I didn't really understand the planet that much. The best trend I saw though would be the original creatures

  8. I agree with what dawson just said, the planet projects were more of an imagination exercise and a test of who can come up with the weirdest thing. I saw one planet that was founded by rednecks and outlawed kimmy k and 1Direction. good idea by the way. I really did not see how this project connected to xenophobia as much as say watching planet of the apes or the short stories but this project was way more fun.

  9. As I viewed other alien planet projects, I noticed that many planets were divided into different parts, like continents, and each part had it's own unique life forms and plants. The environment of each continent varied between projects, and was very unique. These projects relate to xenophobia because we are creating our own planets with life forms that we create, and choose how they act and react to other creatures. A trend I saw in many planets was the idea of life forms inhabiting their own section of the planet.

  10. I noticed that almost all of the planets had bipedal humanoid creatures. They resembled people in many ways, minus the adaptations they had to their environments. I think this helps us understand xenophobia because people usually fear what they don't know. If you take the time to learn about a being that may seem foreign to you, it seems a lot less scary.

  11. As I viewed the Alien Planet Project created by my peers, I noticed that many people clung to the idea of futuristic robotic like creatures. Also, there was many cases of aquatic life forms. Most of the alien life forms were not like humans nor did they look or relate to them. This project helped us understand the concept of xenophobia in ways like showing us what other creatures and life forms and planet could become or look like and in what ways did they exemplify change and difference unlike like here on Earth. In many of the projects, the creatures mainly lived in peace and did not cause threats to the other life forms.

  12. Strange, some were cube, or frozen. Xenophobia covers change and aliens and different planets cover that well. some were new aliens, or extremely old and advanced. some creatures looked like it could tear a person limb from limb and that terrorizing. some were large and some were small.

  13. The alien planet project exhibited some xenophobia because the projects showed that there were some very strange creatures that lived on the planet and that the humans were scared of them when they first arrived on the planet. Our project said that the humans that discovered the planet were not afraid because the people living on the planet were friendly and similar to humans. There were, however, many projects that said the opposite. Some projects had very wild and strange looking types of creatures that lived on the planet that humans immediately would be afraid of when they arrived. Some things that I noticed in most everyone project were large animals that were mixed together. There were creatures on the planets that were two or three animals on earth combined into one creature.

  14. As I viewed the Alien Planet Projects I saw alot of different animals from humans that looked like birds to full metal scorpions. I think this helps us with Xenophobia because the whole planet we came up with was the animals any body in thier right mind would be afraid of these planets.

  15. I noticed that a lot of people chose animals that at the very least looked carnivorous and didn't do many that looked social. This suggests that people assume that animals on other planets will only be aggressive.

  16. When looking at other peoples project I noticed a lot of similarities with life forms, geography, and culture. Many projects had multiple similarities to Earth mostly with physical features so the planets could have sustainable life. Also I noticed many people decided to create their images and maps through technology and only a few used paper. These projects help develop xenophobia because they all create different aliens that would frighten humans or that humans would fear.

  17. I noticed that almost all of the races per planet got along fairly well. There was not much mentioned about war, and any killing was natural and predatorial. A lot of the planets resembled our own Earth, and some were specific to one country ('Murica).

  18. Very few of the projects addressed xenophobia directly but every creature's appearance in each individual presentation varied so much that xenophobia could be an apparent thing. Creatures who look like robots, had multiple eyes and limbs, or different texture of skins had such different appearances that the lack of similarity could make other creatures on the planet uncomfortable therefore, exemplifying xenophobia. A couple planets I noticed had some sort of central conflict between races. I also noticed that every planet had some kind of similarity to earth which could also demonstrate xenophobia as we who are making the project see Earth as superior so we take ideas from Earth to create similar but different planets.

  19. Throughout the presentations I noticed extremely interesting flora and fauna. While some animals and plants resembled those of Earth's, others were very creative. Also, I noticed the dominant animals or civilized culture is usually xenophobic toward either human interaction or other life on that planet

  20. I noticed about half the people created their own creature, and the other half used creatures that have appeared in movies, books, and TV shows. I also saw people that got their drawings, and took picture to put on the presentation. I thought that was very creative and I wish I would have done that. This project helps us delve the concept of xenophobia, because it expands our knowledge on planets/other creatures and how different they/it can really be.

  21. I enjoyed the Alien Planet projects that I observed. All of them had their own twist on the aliens that inhabited them, which made me realize that everyone thinks of the unknown differently. Xenophobia is the fear of the unknown. I think xenophobia means something different for everyone, because something specific that the unknown might contain creates the fear.

  22. As I walked around the classroom I noticed a number of projects had similar concepts in terms of society and hierarchy. All of these related to xenophobia in the fact that the social classes and there superiors having conflict with in one another.

  23. I notice that there were still xenophobia within the planets background and history. One example was the planet of Dago because there were three intelligent races but they always fought against each other even though they lived in the same planet. The indigenous people in the planet seemed to be completely persecuted. This reminds me how Europeans came to the Americas destroyed the Native American population and culture. The planet of Dago kind of parallels with Human history because humans are known to be xenophobic with other cultures just as the species of Dago are xenophobic to the indigenous people.

  24. In the alien planet projects today I noticed that a lot of the planet were very similar to earth. Some had the same plants and very similar animals to the ones on earth. This shows how xenophobia is appearent even in our daily lives. On the other hand some projects were very creative and completely different from earth. This projects can help us realize that there might be other life forms out in the universe. This project also helps us think outside the box and get us thinking about how diverse our world is.

  25. Even though I wasn't there to witness what people made, while I was in class, I saw people around me making their creatures for their planet. Some of them drew pictures while others copied pictures off of the internet. I noticed that a lot of people made their planets similar to Earth. Some had similar life forms while others were really creative. I think this project pertains to xenophobia because it makes us realize/ believe that we aren't the only ones out there in the Milky Way. There are many others and it's almost a scary concept to understand. It makes us think outside of the box and comprehend beyond the human mind.

  26. The things I noticed the most in the presentations was the evolving of plants and animals. I thought some of the names and drawings were very creative. I liked how the students used different ways to create the amazing and interesting parts of the planet. Also, I could tell my peers put a great amount of effort in thinking “outside the box” to create their planets and the creatures living on it. I thought this project helped me delve into the concept of xenophobia. As the years go by, new inventions and places will evolve. This project will help me and my peers to get an idea of what the future will be like, so that we do not have to fear these new creations.

  27. i noticed almost all of the presentaions were unrealsitic and did not help me with the process of xenophobia because they were kind of unappealing and just did not have enough slides for there presentations.
