Xenophobia And Alien Planets?

  1. I noticed that most of the time they focused more on the life forms than the actual planets and I think I only saw one that put moons on their slideshow.

  2. I noticed no life forms were similar to any others they are very different and are all different species. These help us understand xenophobia because they give us views on other life forms or their point of view. Most plants were very different from ours and seemed to be different from traditional aliens. I noticed not many of the projects viewed how people lived.

  3. I think this can show how most people think that aliens are weird deformed abominations that look cute or could eat us hole but there weren't many that were human like.

  4. A majority of the planets has very extreme climates and environments. In the life forms there were many "top dogs" that were the most feared or dangerous on the planet. One presentation had creatures that could be perceived grotesque and disgusting, which was an apparent form of xenophobia. Also, there was some parallels to Earth alongside the differences

  5. All the projects mentions life forms similar to the ones that live here on earth currently or something of the sort. Most of the life forms that I viewed were what most people would categorize as "Monsters" or animal like humans that we are supposed to be scared of. I liked how all of the planets were different than earth but all possessed similar traits and similar cultures and histories.

  6. Some of the species on the planets, were that of completely different to humans, or they were just like humans. Xenophobia takes many different forms throughout the stars and the galaxy, but in the end it's always the same. These projects help us understand how we perceive other earthly ideologies.

  7. After viewing the different Alien Planet Project by my peers I realized how intense some of the life species were. A lot of the projects has scary and crazy looking species that almost made me jump as I came across it. I think these projects help me understand the concept of xenophobia because I realized that the unknown makes myself concerned. All of these planets that were created hold new life situations that I hope would never happen. I myself experienced the definition of xenophobia while observing my peers' projects.

  8. I noticed that a lot of the planets were either icey wastelands or rocky crags. Life forms were based usually on Earth creatures, which admittedly I had the same issue, so things didn't seem too alien. I could have developed my planet a lot more, but ran out of time

  9. Looking at the Alien Planet Projects, it was really cool to see what ideas other people used in their planets. It was really interesting to see the creatures that survived on these planets, using extrapolation to create something none of us had seen before.

  10. The creatures on the planets were similar to other people's presentations. The new creatures help us to think outside of the box, and create new ideas

  11. When looking at my peers alien planet projects, I noticed that all the planets and their inhabitants are very different and far from things you’d find on earth. This idea was seen with creatures that were very far from humans and had different adaptations and things that you would not see on earth. Xenophobia relates to this idea, because things that are new and unusual to us and things that look or act different than normal can scare people and the fact that everyone's planets and creatures were so unique shows that everyone has fears and fascination with the unknown. Alien planets provide things that are new and unsual and I wonder why a lot of projects did not have creatures that resemble humans.

  12. I noticed that a lot of the creatures could be harmful or annoying to people and as people we don't really have to much to be scared about when thinking about the animals on our planet because we have things that can stop them, but the creatures that I saw on other peoples presentations seemed to be a lot more dangerous.

  13. There was alot of great Projects that where unique and interesting to look at. I think Xenophobia was displayed through these projects because of the Unknown. We've never seen these types of Species before, we can only create it through imagination. Xenophobia is described as the Fear of the Unknown, and this is exactly what this Project helped us focus on.

  14. While looking at my peers alien planet projects i noticed the sheer imagination and creativity some of them posses. The fictional characters they were able to imagine was really cool. These projects helped us dive into Xenophobia just by showing us what people with xenophobia could be afraid of.

  15. Everyone's projects were very interesting. A consistent trend was that each planet was very old. I also did not notice any human like species, mostly just species similar to animals. A lot of the species I saw only had one eye, and had scales. There we also very few new architecture ideas.

  16. life forms were a major topic in the projects and they were large, aggressive and dangerous. xenophobia can be seen in this because the perception of life not on earth is dangerous and a threat. overall the ideas were all unique and different

  17. I saw a very wide variety of different ideas presented in these projects. One thing that remained consistent in all the projects I saw was a spherical shaped planet. That is the most logical shape for a planet, so it’s interesting that everyone chose that. I saw lots of funny looking creatures, but I didn’t see any that looked like humans. This relates to xenophobia because everyone assumed that creatures on different planets would be different looking than them, and some of the creatures were also scarier looking than anything on earth.

  18. in all the projects I noticed that most of the planets had rings or a moon and they were nothing like earth, also I noticed that the aliens that lived theri were all based on the geography of the planet. These help with the idea of xenophobia because each type of alein is diffrent but with the biography of the aliens we know they are either difference, similar, scary, or not scary. In conclusion it helps us to see that looks can be deceiving.

  19. I saw lots of planets with completely different creature that interact the same way human interact with other humans from different countries. This is interesting because humans don't interact with our "creatures" or animal as equal the same way all these different creature were on others planets.

  20. Many people focused a lot on how their life forms would look on their planet more than were the planet is or how it was created. I think it would have been cool to see how people had their planets created
